The opening scene's The Thing!

Giving the reader/audience a sense of setting right from the get-go is key, but make sure your opening scene does more than just establish location. The Thing (1982) is a great example of conveying setting while still providing plot detail. This beats a boring aerial shot of the landscape. This is intrinsically part of the story. It matters. Take it away and the story suffers. Your opening scenes should have more than one purpose. They need to both orientate and hook the reader into your tale.

Doucheaholics Pilot episode - a scene from SCRIPT to SCREEN

I loved making our show and the creative process of bringing an idea to life on screen. So this was a real delight when my team shared this with me. A script to screen comparison showing how it looked on the page, what developed on set with our talented actors, and how it was shaped in the edit by my amazing post-production team. My "Jo" Trailer.

So I snipped together a few CCO Images, Vids & Music for my wishful movie, "JO". Logline: Jo, an introvert violinist discovers her inner demons to be an 8 legged monster hungry for her competitive enemies. If you're a Movie Producer / Director and inspired by this and want to create the next Horror Film, message me! The story was inspired by the Japanese Myth - Jorogumo. It's a Black Swan meets Arachnophobia. Dark, sexy and dangerious! https://www.stage32.com/profile/674210/Screenplay/Jo

#12, Taking a Look @ The Genre... P R O J E C T C D

...and spitballing about horror, horror movies, remakes... and what is currently being greenlit today. The question is... since I'm not all that impressed as a fan and a writer... CAN I DO BETTER? Can I present the blueprint to something that is better and more captivating than the majority of what is currently being greenlit? - and in turn potentially 1UP all of these remakes and this overload of established IP with something fresh, scary, ORIGINAL, extraordinary, and something brimming with potential/sequel potential, universal appeal, etc? Something for horror fans. There will likely be a part 2 of this video down the road. Keep a look out for it. AJ
