Hey There, Stage 32 Community!
Scary season is behind us, hope everyone had a fun October and a spooky good Halloween! More importantly, it is also time for our monthly salute to our incredible members here at Stage 32. Nothing like highlighting and celebrating the successes of these hard-working folks, it’s what we live for here at Stage 32. We love to shine the spotlight on just some of the kick-ass writers and creatives in the Stage 32 family and share their stories of success with everyone! We know all too well the passion and effort you all put into your craft each and every day, we see you! And when that hard work pays off with some honest-to-goodness progress and movement, it makes it all worthwhile.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the signings, deals, meetings, script requests, all of the groovy happenings from the month of October…
Congrats to member James Papa, the film based on his script, entitled No Address, starting William Baldwin, Ashanti, Kristanna Loken, Patricia Velasquez, and Beverly D’Angelo, has been given a release date of February 25th, 2025! James connected with the producer-director of the film Julia Verdin through Stage 32, and they developed the script together! Can’t wait to see it!
Congrats to Laurie Ashbourne and Mark Lederkramer who connected through Stage 32 Jobs and have struck a deal for Laurie to adapt Mark’s mob crime drama based on true events. Once the material is in a good place, they plan on sending it to a high-profile filmmaker with whom they have a relationship. Make it happen, guys, and keep us posted!
Congrats to member Laurie Woodward, who has an option deal in place with Galico Media Productions for the screenplay based on Book I of her Artania Chronicles series. Well done, Laurie! That’s pretty awesome!
Congrats to Carol Ann Kennedy for signing a shopping agreement for her project with Lit Manager Eileen Cope. Rock N’ Roll, Carol!!
Congrats to Frank Romano, a member whose short film Rematch was released! Frank was able to move the production of the short forward through connections made within the Stage 32 community, and he also sourced some crew through Stage 32 Jobs. Get it done, Frank! Stoked for you!
