Writer & Executive Wrap Production On Pilot After Connecting Through Stage 32 Script Services! 

Hey folks, Tyler Council here, I am a comedy filmmaker hailing from the strange wild that is South Florida. I'm the creator of the sketch comedy collective, The Reel Idiots.

In November 2023, while doctors in the United States were making medical history with the world’s first successful eye transplant, another significant event was brewing. Thanks to the invaluable support of Emily J. and the Stage 32 community, I found myself connecting with Harry Lowell of Nitelite Pictures for script consulting. When my initial pilot script didn't quite hit the bullseye, I quickly pivoted to an alternate version of the concept, “Badvertisements”, which piqued Harry's interest immediately. What was initially scheduled as a 30-minute consult turned into a 2-hour conversation with a new friend. We quickly connected over like-minded comedy and before I knew it, Nitelite Pictures was expressing interest in optioning my concept.

They not only ended up optioning it, but we just wrapped production on the pilot episode! Seeing my concept come to life with great partners like Harry, Ari, and NiteLite Pictures has completely exceeded my wildest expectations, filled with laughter every step of the way. What an awesome journey it has been thus far!

Thanks to Stage 32's education, motivation, and invaluable connections, I was able to shape my series under the expert guidance of Harry into something I'm incredibly excited and proud of. Before discovering Stage 32, I was essentially clueless about the industry, solely creating sketches for my modest YouTube following. But their focus on democratizing access to the industry changed everything for me, allowing me to realize the true possibilities. We’re now focused on trying to take this pilot to network television – it's a surreal leap from where I was!

The biggest takeaway from my experience with Stage 32 is the paramount importance of connections in the entertainment industry. They're not just helpful; they're vital. Having believers in your corner can make all the difference in your journey. For me, Stage 32 has been a catalyst for growth and opportunity.

As The Reel Idiots and NiteLite Pictures embark on this wild ride, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Stage 32 for making this journey possible. Here is to hoping we all have continued growth in the industry!
