Really stoked to be finalizing my first directed short. The actors are excited and so are the tech crew but why am I so nervous? Will they all show up? Better bring good food!

Melody Mundy I really mean it. Everyone wants to please the director, so be aware you can crush them with an offhand remark or if you fail to recognize their good work (which you should term as"fantastic", "perfect", "wonderful" etc even when you are asking for revisions or do-overs).

It's natural to be nervous. Definitely make sure you have good craft services. The crews work hard. I remember being on a set for hours and hours and getting pretzels as the craft services.

Nerves can be translated as passion and energy. That's how you know you care about your project :). Breathe and channel your passion into every second of the process. You only have one first time

Thanks All. Count down ... why am I still making script edits? Just minors ones but still...I know I could have done better with dialogues and the actors? Are they rehearsing without me looking? Sorry, I’m just ranting.

This is my first. It will be my worst so let’s just have fun making a structured mess.

I DID IT!!!!!!! I DIRECTED my FIrst Movie Short!! SOOOOO HAPPPYYYYYYYY! Cast of 9, crew of 3 and we had a BLAST, no pun intended. We will shoot the elevator scene as soon as I can find a large one. Will try the LA Kings Rink.
