I admit I've turned down rewrite requests, sensing it was for the sake of rewriting to fit a certain thing the producer wanted, not really to improve the script, and for no money, besides. I thought it was the right move back then and still do. I don't like being manipulated. I wasn't that desperate back then and I'm still not.

Pitchfests, when you have something to talk about, can be great. While you WON'T sell a script or get signed in the room, it's a great opportunity to connect with executives and start making some valuable industry contacts!

Thank you Emerson! All the information you tell me does help me out. I have made friends in the film industry and passed my script along to them since it is completed now. Plus, a actor who is big in the B movie industry has agreed for a role in the film. I watched him when I was in high school. He is a phenomenal actor. Then a guy a couple days ago I passed my script onto him as well. He told me when I get the money raised he would make an appearance in the movie provided that I give him plenty of notice. I also watched his films back in the day on USA UP ALL NIGHT. I met him 2 years ago at a Horror Hound Convention. COOL guy to meet.

Dan I hope you are correct because I would love for it to payoff for me. I have been getting my script out there to a few directors and all. I have not heard back from them yet. Still working to raise money for the movie. I have a Crowdit account and I am working on opening up a Indiegogo account also to make the first movie script happen. Scriptwriting is a lot of fun to do but I have noticed that there is still a lot of work to be done to make it perfect. I am a perfectionist and like things done well. This script "THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE"is my baby and I want to make sure that it is perfect!

The script is about finished now. Tonight I sit down to have an hour session with a film executive to discuss about my script. I will be having it ready to pitch.

Hello, I have not used the program myself but one lady from Society of Writers Children and Illustrators meeting last month said to back others up with money and feed back. She said you need to build networking there, she said to be inventive with your gifts for pledges and your titles for them and that you ask others to visit the site whether they pledge or not as to keep it freshly visited. Don't over extend, work your network through social media, be generous but most of all, a strong message sells.

Be realistis with your goal. Don't set it too high if you have a small networking base. Supporting other projects is ok. However, I received emails of people promising to donate if I donated to their projects. This is ok, but be leary of campaigns that might end soon and who are asking for donations from you at the start of your campaign. Some don't keep their promises and you can lose money.

I've been to the Great American Pitchfest which takes place the first weekend of June and had an amazing experience. Cost $200 to pitch to as many producers as I can from 9am-5pm. I've made it to the semifinals of a screenwriting competition and now I've emailed my script to an executive at Fox.
