Entertainment industry question 19: when is a good time to call someone?

As a Career Coach and Stage 32 Next Level Webinar presenter, this question comes up all the time, so if you have fears about calling people, you're not alone. My answer at: http://www.thegreenlightcoach.com/blog/275-question-19/...

Jessica, this is a fantastic share. So many people that I know ask this question all the time. Great article.

Katie Keenan

Great advice! Thank you!

Thank you for your comments, glad it was helpful!

A great article but ..... What if you don't yet know your "type"? At the start of a career it is more a matter of accepting anything just to pay the rent rather than know what your "type" is and market that. What we need now is an "identify your type" article. ;-)

Marie Debrey

I have a couple of ideas for helping to finding your type - 1) ask your Friends on FB to give you three words that describe you. See what words come up most frequently - this kinda gives you an idea a...

You are absolutely right! Thank you for the reminder to "hustle" and really do the work! The comparison with the agency rate and the Shark Tank are both really great analogies. It's true that we can't all be Michelle Monaghan ;)

Where can I find a list of agents/managers in LA?

Hi! I am finally making the move to LA shortly and before I get there (preferably) I wanted to get a head start and begin submitting to agencies and managers. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can find a good list or where I should start? Thank you so much for any and all input you can provide on this!

D Marcus

sagaftra.org, agentassociation.com, backstage.com, entertainmentcareers.net all have lists. Are you taking any classes? That's a really good place to start. Do you know any fellow actors personally? T...

Best CD Workshops in L.A.?

I'm visiting Los Angeles in early March for a week or two and want to fit in at least one or two Casting Director Workshops. Any recommendations? What are the best resources for locating workshops and classes? Thanks! Hope everyone who stumbles across this post is having a marvelous day! :)

Katie Keenan

Thank you for the great tip and question! I will be in LA starting in March as well :)

Good luck, Katie! Is it a permanent trip or a scouting trip?

Katie Keenan

Thanks! I'll be scouting for jobs and a place to live and so I'm looking to make it a permanent trip.

Katie Keenan

Thanks for the amazing event opportunity to all who are involved! I am so sad to not be able to attend, but greatly look forward to any updates and anything similar in the future when I live in the area! :)

Katie Keenan

Hi Paul, very inspiring post! I believe it still holds true - I often think that one almost needs to be able to predict the future in order to ride the wave of success! And as a temp, I will be sure to look out for opportunities through that avenue as well!
