Hey everybody!

I've made some brief posts here before but I think now is a good time to introduce myself more thoroughly. I'm a composer working in multiple aspects of post-production currently based in New York City. Next to music I also edit, direct, and do a bit of shooting as well. Storytelling is a huge passion of mine that's led to a lot of collaborations over the last couple years in advertising and film. Currently I'm finishing up a short film and demoing for trailers, as well as continuing to provide original music and music placement for agency teams across the US. Hi, I just wanted to put myself out there. I am Melina and I'm an aspiring Film/music video director looking to gain experience anywhere. Currently a film and media major at FIT, also known as Fashion Institute of Technology, located in Chelsea, NY. I wrote and directed my first short film this past year which was an amazing, exciting, yet scary feeling but I loved it. I am still new to all of this but I am ready and passionate to learn the ins and outs of film making etc. I'm sure most people can agree that it's hard to be a female. Especially in this business, but it is exceptionally hard being a black female. I grew up surrounded by people who gave up on their lives and just stayed around the corner. I want to be different. I don't want to be a product of circumstance nor a product of a certain situation. I aspire to be bigger and better and I will beat the system.

Hello all, haven't done an introductory post in this manner in quite some time so I'll try to keep things pretty coherent (at this time of night that's anyone's hope). My name is Erik, I'm a composer for visual media living and working in Boston, and currently studying Film Scoring at Berklee. I've always experienced film through two lenses: music and through the eyes of the LGBT community. So the biggest things driving me in my work are the freedom of expression this medium gives you and the goal of increasing LGBT presence and visibility within this industry. I'm super happy to be a part of this site, and I'm looking forward to adding to the big pool of creative work that you all have a part in. Cheers!
