Looking for editor and animator for feature. paid
I am looking for someone with lots of projects to be colored/edited and I am willing to do 3 for free as a test. Can you recommend me some people or topics around here? After doing those 3 for free I am looking forward for a long partnership in this regard. Thank you for your help!
The old joke is I will do the the third project for free but the first two for free. It's very, very difficult to get a someone to pay after they get initial ones free.
I have a feature film I shot on a red epic 6k. Ill let you take a crack at it. if its good, you will get imdb credit and a very loyal friend. message me if you want and I will sgow you the trailer.
If you pull it off, Ill even pay you

Creative endeavors get expensive as the ball is rolling down the hill. Is there a way to get financial help for backend points at this stage in the process? I have a locked edit with the dialogue mastered. I still have, foley, score, sound design, vfx, and color grading to go. My post supervisor has 120 imdb credits. I'm looking at 40k to finish. shot it on Red epic 6k with prime lenses.

Another option (especially if you have significant name(s) attached) would be to show what you have in the can now to sales agents/distribs and ask them to cover remaining post.
Why would sales agents/distribs rake you over the coals for crowdfunding? All they're looking for are quality films and if crowdfunding helps you complete your project then who cares? Money is money.

Expand commentLauran, if you are going to do it yourself, rather than hiring a line producer, you have to learn how to break down a script first. Search for that and you will have an understanding of page count (not the same as how many pages your script says it is) how many pages scenes can be shot in a day, what crew and cast is needed per day, locations etc. This all feeds into your schedule which you can build a budget from. And as mentioned, you need to look at insurance, completion bonds, fringes, state tax incentives, union requirements, etc. It can be done for sure, but not everyone has what it takes just like not everyone can do their own tax returnns.
Thx Laurie, yes still haven't got very far with this - for various reasons. Have been breaking down the script.
Sounds like you're putting together a business plan. You can put that together yourself. But remember, the first question from sales agents/distribs will be "Who's in it?"
