SYNOPSIS:
From an evaluation:
LOST IN LAS VEGAS is a laugh out comedy which explores themes of identity, as our protagonist, Allison, endures the trials and tribulations of preparing for adulthood. On the surface, the story is about recovering her lost engagement ring, however she admits as much (about adulthood) during her journey - Allison's "How can I take care of myself if I can't take care of a ring?" nicely contextualizes the fears of maturation, as one sheds their skin into a new person. The story has plenty of "side quests" which peel back the layers of characters and plot, similar to THE HANGOVER or BRIDESMAIDS, which has plenty of octane coursing through its veins, as well as some great moments of tenderness, as the story crescendos nicely into its conclusion. The writer exhibits their voice wonderfully, in a story which is almost universal in empathy (losing one's Filofax, cell phone, etc) and the winding road one takes to retrieve or replace it.
