About Connie
Connie J. Barretta loves weaving a fictional story around her journeys. She has traveled extensively in Europe. She and her husband, who is Sicilian, have hosted a refugee from Bosnia and six exchange students from Italy and France. She feels that she knows her characters so well that she could sit down at the table and carry on a conversation with them. She is a chocolate aficionado, a star-gazer, and the co-pilot in a Porsche Boxster. She believes that everyone has a story to tell. "It's truly about the journey, not the destination."
As Registered Nurse, she believes in the power of laughter and the imagination. This has been her main inspiration in writing children's books. She feels that children have this amazing ability to see what's really important in this world. During the pandemic, wishing to connect with children who were more isolated during the pandemic, she created her own YouTube channel, for kids only, that allowed her to share the many stories that fill her desk drawers.
She loves a challenge and her focus now is to see her characters come to life for she has converted her novels to screenplays with the goal of seeing one of them on the "Big Screen".
