What is a "diversity feature"? Thanks so much.
Hi everyone. My name is Annie. I'm new to screenwriting as I have previously mainly focused on YA novels. Regarding screenwriting: It's an uphill learning curve. A VERY steep one, but I love it.
Feel free to connect with me.

(As you'll see on my book covers in the attached photo, my name actually is Annerle, but the English for that would be Annie. To simplify - especially regarding spelling and pronunciation - Annie will do.)

It is certainly a transition, but a skill that can be learned. We have tons of resources to help along the way!
Question: I'm used to writing novels and it does take a lot of time. It feels as if scripts take far more time. Is it true, or is it just because I'm new to the process?
Annie, I used to write a book in 3/4 months (but I was working back then) I'd say it's pretty much the same with a script, I can write outlines and first draft in a month but it takes longer to rewrite and polish (I'm still learning too so maybe experienced screenwriters are faster?)
I'm a novelist and yes, it does take a lot of time to write a novel. It feels, though, as if screenwriting takes a lot more time. Is it because I'm new to the process, or is it indeed more complex than novel writing?
They are both very different mediums where meaning can be conveyed in different ways. Reading screenplays of movies and adaptations you like can be a good way of studying how your meaning can be translated into a new medium.
If you could ghostwrite my book (already written) and find a publisher you get half of royalties.
In many cases the author also writes the screenplay of their novels. A factory writer may be attached as well.

Hi, Annie here, I'm busy with my first script and need advice, please.
Does the outline one submits with your story bible and pitch document need to be in a specific format and is Word ok or does one have to do it somewhere in Final Draft?
Thanks
Hi Annie, usually PDF is an acceptable format - it's simpler and can be read everywhere (it's possible the person reading your script doesn't have Final Draft, for example). If in doubt, you could ask whoever you are submitting to what their preference is.
As for layout, all you need is to follow standard sript format for the media and org you are submitting to.
Hi, Annie. This is Maurice from the Stage 32 Lounge Crew. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from Authoring & Playwriting to Screenwriting since it fits better there. Let me know if you have any questions and all the best to you on your script!

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!

Expand commentGenerally speaking, "diversity feature" refers to all the ways that people are different (race, gender, sexuality, age, ethnicity, mental abilities, physical abilities, etc.). If you're referring to a 'diverse feature film or television series', it usually refers to the cast (and occasionally the crew) being a diverse make up in the previously mentioned areas. Hope this helps!
