Hello film producers, We are a small indie film team looking to grow. We are primarily based in Virginia but have team members spread throughout many states. We currently have a short film ready for pre-production. So if you can find locations, actors, or anything that can help a film's success, please, let's get started. A little about the team. We are formally known as Arris Productions but we are currently changing our name. You can find us all on IMDb under David Damen, Keenan Parry, Angela Makeever, and Chelsea Anders. Our previous film The Enemies You Keep played in festivals across the globe, winning a handful of awards. We are currently in post-production for our first feature film. We also have a few short films ready for the next festival circuit. Our weakness is in the "producer's" area. We haven't made many films in the VA area. But we are looking to change that with your help. What you need. First off, you must love fun! We are by no means a stuffy team. We love making films so having fun doing it is important. You must be personable and outgoing. Having experience in film is important but not needed. We are mostly looking for someone who knows people and places. We make our projects on micro budgets for the love and prospect of financial growth. If you are looking for a job or fast money we are not the team for you. We are growing, and many times we get solid budgets to cover day rates. But most of the time we just make our movies with what we have. What do you do in your spare time?

Hello I am David Damen //. I am a cinematographer based out of Ohio. I wanted to ask a few questions on here geared toward fellow shooters. How busy do you stay? This year I have been fortunate enough to be busy every month. This took about 6 years to to reach a point like this. If you stay busy what is your advice to someone who needs more work? Of the work you do how much of it is feature film work? Is feature film work what you prefer or do you prefer smaller jobs? Where do you get most of your work? Word of mouth? Online? Sites like this? My final question is when is the best time to go Union? You dont need to answer all of them just what you want to or the ones you have the most insight in. Thanks in advance.

Since the failure of my first Idiegogo campaign I have been traveling around the US holding meetings with anyone I can. I wanted to learn how other people succeed. I read every book, blog, article, and email I could on the matter. Today my team just got the news that our film FRiEND (working Title) just made the home page!! Hey there everybody! I'm Heather, singer, ex novelist (maybe just on a 10 year hiatus), and have 5 unfinished scripts/projects beckoning to me on an hourly basis... So this was my last film The Enemies You Keep https://vimeo.com/28517135 Since then I co-directed a feature in NYC which will be done this month and heading to festivals. I also was a DP on a feature in Ohio and a short film in NC. I am gearing up to shoot my next untitled feature in my hometown Virginia Beach. This film is meant to be a much smaller scale project shot with a very small crew with local talent. We know we will need a little bit of money somewhere in the area of $5k-$10k. So we are looking for investors or producers who want to get involved in a project that is all ready to go. The film is a psych/drama with loads of talented people on board already. I am wondering if anyone here has any ideas on how we can raise this money. We have the crowd funding option of coarse. But we don't have a lot of time to get together a bunch of exciting perks like we have before.We want the production to be kind of undercover and focused on the art of making the film without a lot of energy spent on something like a Kickstarter campaign. Those take a lot of time and energy, which is not something I am afraid of. We just want to get right into shooting. So how did you raise money for your films? If you went the crowd funding what did you do to make your campaign a success. And if your an investor/producer who is interested in helping micro budget projects I would love to speak with you and work out something out.

I´ve read several times it would be best to always work on several projects at the same time so I wanted to ask you on how many projects you guys are currently working on? And are the projects pretty much the same or are you working on different genres? At what stage are you at those projects and how do you manage that? I am currently working on 3 projects. 2 film features and an episodic tv show. One feature is a high concept Fantasy/Action movie with a lot of CGI. The first pages are already written. The other is a pretty low concept zombie horror-comedy movie. Nothing written yet but the tone, characters and the story arch is set. I need some more ideas on funny horror scenes. Last but not least I have a sitcom I´m working on. The first two seasons story arch is ready and most of the episodes too but not written yet. Right now I´m writing the beat sheets. Need some more sitcom moments but it goes well because it is something I have experienced myself. I usually write on a different project every day depending on what I want to write and what ideas I have. Even though I prefer to write the high concept I found out it would be better to write the zombie movie first because I was told it´s easier to sell that first and later try to sell the high concept.
