Happy Sunday, Creative Army!
Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee, and let's dive in.
First up, I'm so excited about INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY to finally be in theaters worldwide. I was lucky enough to see it in Cannes in May and had a blast with the Stage 32 crew while we were there. In honor of its release, I came across this video from CinemaStix looking back at RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK that gives ample reason why the film that kicked off this franchise is such a classic. Looking at an analysis from director Steven Soderbergh, you'll see how Spielberg used framing, lighting, staging, and more to tell a story that holds up in many ways, even when you remove the color, score, and dialogue.
Next up, we have a video from GQ with composer Danny Elfman. BATMAN, BEETLEJUICE, WEDNESDAY, and so many more... are all memorable collaborations between Elfman and director/producer Tim Burton. In this video, Elfman shares his process of creating the scores while also giving a fantastic insight into what it's like working with Burton over decades.
As always, here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below!
