I commented on your other three introduction posts, John Michael German. I should've moved them to the Anything Goes Lounge, but I didn't think about it at the time. I apologize....

Does a hook need to mention the plot?

Title: DUE

Hook: An intense and disturbing ride with many unsettling mysteries that slowly unravel, and just when you think you know everything, a hidden layer emerges, prompting a second look at all that came before.

Would you consider this a hook or does it need to convey more about the story itself?

Maurice Vaughan

Oh ok, Kathryn Zizek. So you're gonna have the logline and the hook in the pitch. I like that.

Leonardo Ramirez

I agree Maurice Vaughan So long as it's not read separately, it's good idea to include it in the pitch Kathryn Zizek....

Kathryn Zizek

Sorry all. I should have been more clear.

Debbie Croysdale

I usually make hook specific. Dramatic hook, something is happening to protagonist & we want to follow being in their shoes OR commercial hook aka a pre sold concept for fans of EG Zombies, vampires, road trips etc.

Mike Childress

Kathryn Zizek Ahhhh gotcha, makes total sense now!
