I've been working very hard with my partner we had one investor for a project that we were on the homestretch of getting funded yet the investor requires an escrow of 10% I wish it was a bit easier to get the projects funded

I think sometimes our work can be our greatest calling card, so here's a link to my trailer for a short film I did entitled 'The Hum'. I hope you like it. https://vimeo.com/101476538
Well its real and no one is sure what it is. It can even be recorded with the right equipment. Either way a coll bases for a film,
The sound I used for the hum in the film is actually a reported recording of the actual hum. Belgium I believe.
The Hum is a result of some primeval force not remembering the words.
Thanks for the kind words. I might have a shortened version of this film appearing in a festival soon.
Looks and sounds intriguing! It is indeed a real topic of speculation, if not a confirmed phenomenon (just yet): http://www.livescience.com/43519-taos-hum.html Will look forward to seeing the finished...

I am an actor whose true desire is to make a living in the sci-fi and horror genres. Yep, I would be content as could be to be a B-movie actress covered in blood or facing down an alien invasion and loving every minute of it! Any advice or push in the right direction is well and truly welcome! My IMDB page if you are interested! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5804956/

Wow. I really only wanted an opinion of the storyline. You went way above the call of duty. However, I will say, you are right to the point and thank you for that. Hope it can be improved to your satisfaction. Have a good day!

Expand commentThis is quite captivating once you get past some of the distractions. It took me a while to ignore her makeup, the eyelashes and the shimmering tight pants. She contrasts too much with the people she confronts. The cemetery beginning took away from what turned out to be a sincere mission to help people. I'd redo the beginning to be less ethereal, and make it more gritty. The captions need redone and someone with less of a valley girl accent should do the voiceover. Tighten it up and I think you have something intriguing. Keep at it!
Thank you for your opinion. It'll be taken seriously.

The comments above are spot on but you can improve on all without a doubt. Hope it comes to fruition because I have been working on something like this as a fictional script with a different twist.
Thanks Elizabeth, best of luck. dh

I have fallen in love with film, and have managed to garner a few Indie credts thus far. I am in love with the horror and sci-fi genres, but am open to any project that interests me! I am also a writer and educator (I teach college literature to keep from starving!) I am looking to expand my reach and hope to eventually make my art my sole career. As a side note, I love seeing all the UK faces on here. That is where I would LOVE to go for film or television work! Keep me in mind if you are looking for an actress!

Expand commentJonathan, to add to the above: if you are shopping to a major studio, they are only looking at the established marketability of who you already have locked in by contract. That's their world and they don't do anything else. If you are looking at independent investors, they ONLY reason they will invest - regardless of the documents, market, ROI, risk, etc - is if THEY BUY INTO YOU PERSONALLY. In other words, recognize you are asking them to believe in YOU. The merits of the project are almost irrelevant if they believe in you, and if they don't it won't matter if you have Brad Pitt obligated to do it for 20 cents a day.
I agree with Lowrie Fawley & Erik A. Jacobson you have to be willing to put some skin in the game first but also Jonathan Roberts have you explored financing through the private sector yet?...
