Hi everyone. I've been a part of Stage 32 for a while, but never seen to be able to come over to share with other members. I've been primarily a novelist, but have a number of screenplays under my belt. A few have even reached semi-finalist status at Sundance and elsewhere. I love interacting with f...

A novelist and screenwriter - these are very solo acts. Glad you decided to join us. Lots of fun to be had - courtesy of RB.

Will Brown hope you get what you're seeking. Perhaps the JOBS section might help.

Letting Things Out

I am not the type of person to usually vent my frustrations but.... I must admit I have hit a rough patch. I have been working as a script supervisor on a TV pilot (awesome show once everything is situated ill show it to you guys). I loved and adored every waking moment of working on the set. Great...

Thank you I really appreciate that a lot!

Maryann Miller

So sorry for you losses, Brandon. This has been a tough year of loss for me, too, and I know the emotional drain that grieving causes and how that affects writing and putting yourself out there for jo...

Mentor

If you could pick ONE person to mentor you ...who would it be?

Shellie Schmals

Tim Bragg - I adore Alan Alda! He also grew up surrounded by vaudeville & burlesque, his mom was a dancer!

Tim Bragg

I love Vaudeville. I love George Burns and Gracie Allen. I did a few years ago a four page short tribute to Vaudeville, nobody liked it.

Gerri Garrick

Responding many years too late Luis R. Quintero but I'd choose Nia Vardalos. She's the reason I wrote my first screenplay and I'd love to star in my own uplifting comedies as she has as well!...

Some of my favourite comedians started in Vaudeville or radio. I relate to Jack Benny because our personalities are similar and our comedy style are very much alike and he has a certain sarcasm that I also have.

Adam C. Fisk

I know it's probably cliche, but I'd have to say Spielberg. The guy has been my top film and storytelling influence literally since I was a kid.

"I don't want to talk about it...."

If the "Today" show decides they don't want to talk about your movie, but another one instead, what would you do? Here's what Amy Adams did: http://www.backstageol.com/movies/interview-with-amy-adams-canceled-in-m... NBC, it's a 2-way street! Way to go, Amy!...

What the Today producers did was an insult. Any person being interviewed, whether a celebrity or not, has the right to limit what they are comfortable talking about on air or for publication. Respecti...

I'll have to work that fact in for my Nite of Comedy this year. We always make fun of poor Justin. Poor? Did I really say poor? LOL

Reaching One Person

Hello, and nice to meet everyone. Been on Stage 32 for only a month now, done a few online skype pitches, some rejections, some requests. This is a truly a great way to practice. I'm originally from Portland Oregon, started doing some programs in community TV (back with those handheld camcorders tha...

Such a fantastic attitude! It's your kind of un-breaking dedication and heart that screenplays are WRITTEN about. I'm glad you'll never give up; this whole business is a game of attrition and those with tenacity and talent are BOUND to be successful. Best of luck! :-)

Tony Moschetto

I second your thoughts, Dara. Good luck, Elizabeth! Happy writing!

Mandla Bolekaja

Agreed with the above comments. However you continue to do what you really love and there will be satisfaction.

Maryann Miller

Tenacity wins out all the time. Good for you.

Love your energy, Elizabeth!

Glad to be here

I have worked behind the scenes on crew building sets and stages for 10 years. My specialty is carpentry. My talents lie with the work I build, however, my passion lies in the industry. I'm usually the only guy on crew that likes to talk about anything and everything that is going on in the industry...

Wow, RB, thanks man! Thanks for this site, man, I'm loving it.

Richard "RB" Botto

Glad you're finding it beneficial, my friend.

Maryann Miller

To work in set building one would have to love to build cool stuff. My actor made me a car and a well. Both had to easily move on and off stage. He took that as a challenge and came up with two neat p...

now that's impressive that multi-use.

Maryann Miller

The Winnsboro Center for the Arts is a multi-use facility, so we have to clear the stage for music concerts that happen in between plays. We also have a great exhibit space for fine art and photography. It is a great place to hang out and absorb all that creative spirit.

Note From a Newbie

This is my first visit to the lounge. Where are the drinks? I'm new to Stage 32 and just finding my way around. My profile picture is from when I played Nona in "The Altos" at a community theatre. I do love playing on stage, but have not done it professionally, which doesn't mean I wouldn't want to....

The drinks arrive by mail in 6-8 business days...just kidding ;-) Glad to have such a fun, creative spirit on the site. Best of luck!

Richard "RB" Botto

About time you showed up here, Maryann! BTW, there's a hidden bar in the back.

Maryann Miller

Where, where, RB? I do not want to wait on the postal service. Sorry Dara.
