I'm coming to LA for a week and am looking for some Stage 32 people to meet up with. I'll be there from the 11th of August until the 18th. Anyone want to have a drink?

Hey, LA (and surrounding areas) peeps! If you can make this meetup at The Perch in downtown L.A., please post here. If another day works better, share that, too. We want as many people to show up as possible. http://www.perchla.com/

About 30 people showed up, eight of those were from STAGE32. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Busby's East from 5-8 pm. I'm going to join them monthly. Busby's is a great location, casual atmosphere, $1 tacos, $5 drinks and everyone in the private room is there to network.
Sounds amazing! I keep having to miss them, darnit!
Marni, Now that we joined with this other group it will always be the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Busby's. I'm sure other LA meetups will pop up as well.
I definitely hope there will be other meetups; Tuesday is the one day every week I'm not free to go! :)
look on other thread. There's a group starting in Manhattan Beach
Hi all, I'm looking for some advise. I'm a British actor based in London and I'm looking for as much information on how to go about taking my career across the pond to the states. Don't change your life without first checking it out. If you're going to LA, you need a car. And you kind of need a reason to be there, otherwise it's basically a big wasteland! New York is more like London. It's bustling and there's always lots happening and so many things to be a part of and to be inspired by. For me, my heart is in New York, you may feel different. Anyways feel free to email me if I can help more. Dan
Very good advice Daniel.
No.1 thing to consider - Do you have a visa to work in the states? If not then life will be very difficult for you over here regardless of where you go and what you want to do.
This wonderful project was written, produced, filmed and shot by Tommy Kraft. This short Drama follows a young bookstore owner, struggling with the death of his father, and makes a startling discovery that could change his life forever. Hope you all enjoy it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsYn5KNvyqA...

Haha thanks James, I appreciate you for taking the time to view this project
You are very welcome! Keep up the good work!
Big smiles. Nice work!
What an awesome compliment, :) thank you
very well made Michael, I enjoyed it, well done
What do you consider the essential components of a good acting reel? The first person who says "good acting" gets a prize ;-)
I'm an actor, an impersonator, a true shapeshifter. I'll bring old and new characters alive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCoMVBBt27E
That's very well pieced together reel Cela and it shows you are working but I'm afraid to say I don't see the 'work'. It in my opinion may be a good Print reel. I didn't hear your voice in it once !
This isn't an acting reel. The first rule of reels is NO montages and this "reel" is pretty much just a 2 min montage.
As Mark says its very well put together but it doesn't serve the purpose of an acting reel.
I admit this is a new and different concept, a teaser to show possibilities. However, the voice is only a part of the acting and I don't see how a reel is even possible with NO montages. It's always a montage.

All the best at Sundance!
Go get em mate. Good Luck.
Thank you!!! Thank you !!!
You made Prototype!? Whoa. I already have you listed as one of my must-see movies of 2013.
Congratulation Marcelo hope to watch it on Iran or anywhere around the world .

I've had a chance to see it already and am very proud of the way it turned out. Writing for them was a wonderful experience and has opened other doors. I am grateful to my manager for putting me in the room with them and grateful for the opportunity. Thank you God.
How wonderful Bob! I wish you lots of success! Can't wait to watch it!!
That's great Bob. Much success to you man.
Thank you all... It's been a great year so far. I just did an interview with a Summer Glau fansite about the film: http://summerglauwiki.com/news/interview_with_help_for_the_holidays_writ......

I think I counted 3 bars in the building and a few lounges upstairs...as well as pool tables and other games. I think I may arrive early and shoot a bit of pool.

Looks like I was a little late for this one as well. If you all have another and I'm in So Cal I'd love to do a meetup with all of you.
