I'm a screenwriter, originally from London, but based in LA. I've managed to garner a few awards for my work, and recently won the Stage32 Search For New Blood Contest.
My career started in theatre and live events, and evolved into music video and film, and since relocating to the US, my day job has been in motion design and visual effects. It's a long story.
Growing up on Star Wars, Stephen Spielberg, Clive Barker and David Lynch made me a genre writer - though I lean most heavily into fantasy and horror, I love science fiction, thrillers and anything with a hint of the unusual. Currently working on another horror feature, a supernatural crime thriller for TV, and a couple of things that are sort of - but not quite - biopics.
I'm extremely grateful that this community exists, and looking forward to getting to know people!
So great to meet you and congrats. Love all those influences myself. Would love to check out your screenplay. Sounds awesome.

Normann, you're spot on about the balance of the original Ghostbusters - it's scary but funny, it's cartoonish, but has a grounded, gritty New York feel to it,. I don't think the new movie accomplishes that, which is a shame, but it delivers in ways that I didn't expect it to.
I don't know Blood Red sky. Is it worth a look?
Richard: If you’re a horror fan I think it’s worth a look. It tries to shift the vampire paradigm while still maintaining a taught thriller. It’s not a big movie but it certainly keeps moving. If you check it out, I hope you’ll let me know what you think.

My name is Julia, I am new to Stage 32 - it's lovely to meet you all!
I am an emerging writer-director based in Toronto (Canada) and a big science-fiction/
fantasy/adventure/anime fan :)
I have written, directed and produced a feature film and a short film, and am currently writing two features - one of which reached the Semi-Finalist stage in the ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Script Competition (2021). When not writing/making my own films, I work in the Toronto indie scene, most recently as a Script Supervisor.
I look forward to connecting with you all!
