Wa alaikum al salam, how can I forget? :)
LOL :-) How are you doing these days?
Peace and Blessing Sabina
hey Sabina!
Hi, Sabina, thanks for the add! --Doug www.fourstarfeedback.com Twitter: @DougDavidson71
You're a real inspiration. You know what makes independent film so great? Precisely the fact that it's all up in the air with little chance of ever reaching the ground. I love the headaches and heartaches that come with shooting low-budget. Somehow they make me feel alive. Hope I have an experience very much like yours very soon.
Oh yes and please show your movie in Denver, Colorado!
Good luck with your film! I will be releasing Warhol to the web for all to see!
Hi Sabina! I might not be able to screen my movie in a Denver theater, but I hope this will do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3bi7sIDXNM
I've distilled everything I know about writing loglines into one article. http://sabinagiado.wordpress.com/2013/05/12/wax-off-or-how-to-write-a-ki......

Well said. It's the KISS principle with bite.
Thank you for the link.... much appreciated...
Good stuff!

I think Mr. Olson is complaining more about the writer's lack of professionalism than the actual quality of the work (which albeit was bad, but that is expected from a novice anyway.) The 'young man' was of his 'barest acquaintance'. From the sounds of it, he and his girlfriend pestered him to read his synopsis, then replaced one version with another, and then didn't take his feedback with grace - worse still, they went and told everybody that he was a "d***". Obviously Mr. Olson reads peoples' scripts - he says he has a pile of scripts by 'good friends'. The operative word here is 'good friend'. Mr. Olson possibly has to care about you a great deal. Have a rapport. And perhaps be very excited about the idea. Not an unreasonable request. You wouldn't want to write a script with a 'meh' idea in the first place - however, if someone is not into your genre or idea, you wouldn't want them to read it too. People have rules about the way you can interact with them professionally and personally. That's fine. Human beings do that all the time. I'm surprised Mr. Olson didn't cuss him out at the very beginning. He obviously waited till he disappointed him completely and then wrote an article based on that frustration. Personally I would much prefer to pitch someone my idea and have them get so excited that they would be like, "I need to read your script NOW." And I send it to them. God willing, it blows their socks off. Essentially if I can't sell them on the idea, they won't sit through my script anyway.
Hi Stuart! Great to meet you. My brother lives in Auckland and I was seriously considering the film Master's course in Uni of Auckland at one time :-) Beautiful country - though I think you know that.
Hey Sabina, your brother is very lucky to live where he does and I recommend it to everyone. Hope you make the time to see for yourself. Thanks for connecting.
Hi Sabina, I've met you at the screenwriters meeting a few months back. Let me know if you ever need actors to do a table read for your scripts. Best. C
Thank you so much Catrine. I definitely will soon, hopefully by the end of this year. If you or anyone you know need any help with screenwriting or writing marketing materials for their films, please let me know! I'd be happy to be of service.
Definitely. I'll keep you in mind. Hope to see you again soon. C
That's great - I love meeting more like-minded souls. It feels like you've found your tribe. I've not pitched to anyone yet. LOL I think you sent me some beginner's pointers before.

Hi Palaash, I've always wanted to make a film in India! What were you thinking?
Hi Philip, I see your old thread has sprung back to life :D Are you still looking? If so, what for?
Hi Philip, nice to know you! This is a post from many years ago, but still I was wondering if you're still looking for short scripts!
If you are, so far I have only one script (which has already got its first award), if you'd like I could email it to you; if interested, let me know :)
