Having jumped at the chance to audition for, shall we say, a "unique" national commercial, the acting bug bit Dan and he never looked back. Soon, he found himself on set with Larry David showcasing his improv chops. Below, Dan shares his hilarious journey and how he realized that, as an actor, you can never take yours…

One of the more popular requests we get here at Stage 32 is information on best practices for promoting a crowdfunding campaign on social media. Stage 32'er Michel Merkt Wins the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film!

Last night was a very special one around these parts as our good friend Michel Merkt captured the Golden Globe for producing Best Foreign Film winner, Elle. As I mentioned in yesterday's blog, Michel has not only been a staunch supporter of all we do here at Stage 32, but he has worked with and mentored so many 32'ers through the years.   Michel was kind enough to invite me to the premiere of Elle at the Cannes film festival last year. To be invited to be part of his tribe du…

What Can You Learn From A Linguist? Watch TV With One, and Find Out!

“Legen-wait for it-dary.” “I couldn’t help but wonder...” “Not that there’s anything wrong with that!” Can you identify any of the above phrases as associated with a particular television series or television character? The first one is the catchphrase of Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother; the second is the start of Carrie Bradshaw’s many musings on Sex and the City, and the last was uttered by various cast members of Seinf…

How To Get Commissioned for British TV Right Now!

Stranger Things is killing it among the industry people I know right now. Almost everyone who watches it drinks it straight down. I thought I'd try half an ep to see what it felt like. I watched it as fast as I possibly could. One is glorious 1980s nostalgia, one is a heart-achingly beautiful journey into Thomas Hardy …
