Right now our industry is seeing a seismic shift in a variety of ways and women's voices are stronger than ever before. At Stage 32, our mission has always been to connect, encourage and inspire others to stay strong to their convictions and to never give in where it comes to their creative pursuits. To that end, we've teamed up with our great friends Daniel Sol, Theo Dumont and Nicole Castro from Hollyshorts and Kate Rees Davies at the Alliance of Women Directors for an exciting and tim…

For 2 days some of the industry's heavyweights descended upon the Pacific Northwest to teach about the industry and meet the fresh talent that exists in the state of Washington. Over the course of 2 days there were many panels and workshops discussing everything from script to screen and the evolution of the industry with players like Netflix and Amazon. There was an…

It was another incredible year at the American Film Market (AFM). Due to the sheer amount of content being created, purchased and distributed in the current climate, the attendees had a little jump in their step this time around. For the second straight year, I had the pleasure of leading the Producing Studio Films on an Independent Budget panel. This was a lively and passionate discussion featuring both similar and diverging opinions on the current state of indie film producing, film f…
I've been working with David Okamoto from AT&T for over a year now and have been incredibly impressed with how he is helping short film filmmakers create and move ahead in this growing world of DIY film. When David told me that AT&T was opening up a call for submissions for the next generation of filmmakers to submit their work I was excited to bring it to the Stage 32 community. Not only is AT&T giving filmmakers who have shot a film on a phone a chance, but t…

I’m extremely pleased to announce that Stage 32 has been named as the official film networking and education platform of the American Film Market for the 2nd year in a row. Over the last couple of years, we’ve polled thousands of filmmakers who are members of the Stage 32 community and asked them what they most need to move the nee…
